The Franciscans
of Mary the Theotokos

Formation:

Discernment - after requesting to join the Order, minimum of 1 month spent reflecting on whether to become a Postulant, engaging in discussions about what is required of Postulants, the spirituality, etc.

Postulants - spend 6 months to 1 year learning about our community and developing a prayer-centered life. They participate in weekly discussions via our group to talk about the challenges of living a vowed life while remaining in a secular world.

Novices - spend 1 - 2 years learning and studying Marian and Franciscan spirituality, committing to a deeper prayer life and living the Rule.

Sisters - Profession of Temporary Vows - continuing the journey with Mary, Francis and Clare and deciding whether to make a lifelong commitment to the Rule and life of prayer, fully embracing a Marian/Franciscan spirituality.

After 3 years, Sisters may opt to take a Final Profession of Vows.
Or may choose to make a yearly renewal of vows.
