Franciscans of Mary the Theotokos
"Called by Mary to be an Instrument of Peace"

Holy Mary, Mother of Creation, bless us that we may experience God as Love
in praise of all creatures, in love of all of creation.  Amen.

Father Michael Adams - www.livingrosaries.org

Elizabeth, filled with the Holy Spirit, cried out in a loud voice and said,
"Most blessed are you among women,
and blessed is the fruit of your womb."
Luke 1:41-43

We are a new Independent Catholic Franciscan Religious Order, not under the jurisdiction of Rome. Our Order was created September 8, 2007 on the Feast of the Birth of Mary. We are a contemplative Order in that we seek to live lives that are centered around prayer as opposed to prayer being something we just "fit in" when we have the time. We want to create a cyber community of Sisters as well as local communities. We welcome everyone who feels "Called by Mary" to say "Yes" as She did every moment and to follow Her Way... a way of love and acceptance for all people ... for all life... for all Creation... a way of peace. Being Catholic is NOT a requirement to become a member of our Order. However, being able to embrace our beliefs regarding Mary is! We do NOT believe that Mary was ever meek, passive and/or submissive. Quite the opposite, She was courageous and strong in Her saying "YES" to God. More than a mere "act of obedience" to the Will of God, Her decision was one of great faith and trust.

About our Symbol

The Rainbow background symbolizes hope. God's promise.

The Brown Tau to signify that we embrace a Franciscan Spirituality.

The M represents Mary, Mother of Jesus, Mother of God, our Mother.

We are “Called by Mary” to follow Her Way...

To be an Instrument of Peace,

To echo Her courageous “Yes” to God's voice in our own lives.

And as the M is superimposed over the T

So we seek to blend Marian and Franciscan Spirituality in our lives.

Saint Francis believed that all life and all creation was blessed and sanctified by Christ. As such, Francis had a deep respect and reverence for all life, both human and non-human as well everything in Nature. We share that view and strive to live in harmony with all life and respect this Earth that is our home. We are aware that all of Nature is God's canvas and His "paintings" are beyond what any human hand could create.

Saint Francis had a deep love for Mary as Mother and Queen. He declared Her the Protectress and Advocate for his family.
